Admissions

Carfax College does not operate a selective admissions policy. Pupils of all levels are welcome to benefit from the very personal tuition and pastoral care. The College is equally suited to high-flyers and to those who have struggled academically. The levels of individual attention can also be of particular help to pupils with special educational needs.

The College has no formal age restrictions. The majority of GCSE pupils are between 14 and 16 years old, and most A level pupils are between 16 and 19 years old. However, the College can offer

courses which are suitable for both younger and older pupils.

Group courses begin in September and January. Pupils on individual courses are encouraged to follow the normal pattern of the school year, but there is a great deal of flexibility in this and in principle they can join at any time during the year. Short-term and part-time courses are also offered all year round, including weekends and holidays.

If you are interested in applying to take a course at Carfax College, or you would simply like to find out more, please don't hesitate to get in touch. You can submit an enquiry using the contact form or call 01865 200676 to speak to our friendly admissions team. An experienced member of staff will be happy to talk through your situation with you, to explore how Carfax should be able to  help, and to answer any questions you might have, all in total confidence. You are more than welcome to come in for a face-to-face meeting and look around the premises and facilities.

Should you wish to proceed and make an application, you will be asked to complete a Registration Form and to provide other information which may help to finalize the details of the course, such as reports and results from current or previous schools, as well as certificates or other evidence of qualifications already obtained.

Accommodation, sports, extra-curricular interests, and any other personal requirements will be discussed as part of this process. Once a course has been agreed upon, an invoice will be issued for the first installment of the course fees. The course can only begin once this first invoice has been settled. When new pupils arrive to begin a course, they are immediately welcomed into this small, friendly community. New pupils are given a full induction to help them feel at home at Carfax and in Oxford, as well as to make sure that all their needs are met.
