Announcing the Winners of Term 1 Essay Competition!

This term, we held an essay competition that asked students to consider our term's theme of Community. The question was “Describe your community, why it is important and how you can contribute to it.” We were very impressed by the quality of all the entries, and delighted by how many students participated, but there could be only one winner. We are thrilled to announce that, this year, the Carfax College 2021 Essay First Prize was awarded to Tierney Holloway-Brown. Tierney's essay was a reflective and honest exploration of what makes a community in the college and how everyone plays a role in ensuring students feel safe and happy. It was a really lovely piece of writing. Well done to Tierney!

Also, huge congratulations to the runners-up who made some very valuable contributions. Overall, the winners were:

First prize: Tierney Holloway-Brown

Runners Up: Markus Brandish, Peter Tomkins & Josh Ives

All winners will be awarded a book token and a certificate as a prize.
